Have you ever wondered what it would be like to participate in a race with no fixed finish line, where every kilometer covered means more than just a personal record? Let me tell you about an extraordinary event that’s about to return: the Wings for Life World Run 2025.

A Race that Changes the Rules of the Game
Imagine a race where you’re not looking for the finish line – the finish line is chasing you. The Wings for Life World Run has revolutionized the traditional concept of competitive running by introducing the “catcher car,” a vehicle (real or virtual) that starts 30 minutes after the beginning and gradually increases its speed, transforming every kilometer into an increasingly intense challenge. It’s like being the protagonist of an action movie, where the chase becomes a metaphor for human determination.
A Global Movement for Research
When you start running in Italy on May 4th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, you’ll be part of something bigger. At that precise moment, while you’re running under the early afternoon sun, someone will be challenging the dawn in America or the night in Asia. It’s a synchronized dance of thousands of people across seven continents, running with a single goal: supporting spinal cord injury research. Every euro collected – and we’re talking about over 51 million so far – goes entirely to this cause.
Italy at the Center of the Action
This year, Italy takes center stage again with two main locations that will take your breath away. In Milan, the modernity of CityLife will be the backdrop for your run, with its skyscrapers challenging the sky as a symbol of the heights we can reach together. In Ravenna, meanwhile, you can run between the history of the Darsena and the nature of Parco Teodorico, on a route that unites past and future. But that’s not all: from Aosta to Palermo, cities across the country are organizing to be part of this global mission.
How to Participate and Make a Difference
You have two ways to join this adventure: you can choose the App Run, which allows you to run wherever you want, transforming your favorite route into part of this worldwide event, or you can participate in one of the seven Flagship Runs in Europe. Two of these, Vienna and Poznan, are already sold out, demonstrating how anticipated and significant this event is.
Consider that in previous editions, over 1.5 million participants from 195 different nationalities have run, walked, or moved in wheelchairs for this cause. Among them was our own Giorgio Calcaterra, who set an Italian record of 88.4 km, proving that when we run for a greater purpose, we can overcome any limit.
This is not just a race: it’s a global movement of hope, determination, and solidarity. Every step you take on May 4th won’t be just for you, but for all those people waiting for a breakthrough in spinal cord injury research. Are you ready to make a difference?
